| 2.1 Why have your site mobile accessible? |
People want to access courses where they are, using the device they are using.
Typically, this is in a mobile environment using a mobile device e.g. smartphone (a cell phone with a web browser), PDA, or cell phone.
Most courses are not built to be accessed by mobile devices
Plug-ins like movies, flash, and PDF files can not be accessed or read over most mobile devices.
Many course creators want to use Power Point to Flash converters - Flash does not work on most Mobile devices.
Many graphic artists create courses so that all the information displays in a pre-set position. This is called absolute positioning. Absolute positioned pages work well for printed brochures but will not resize for small screens.
Many tests are built with tools that only work on specific browsers. Most mobile devices do not use Microsoft operating system, making courses that work only on Microsoft un-usable. The popular mobile browsers display and work differently then PC browsers, making most tests unusable.
