READYGO, INC. ANNOUNCES MAJOR UPGRADE OF ITS POPULAR
READYGO WEB COURSE BUILDER AND SERVER-SIDE
TESTING
ReadyGo WCB 4.0 Incorporates Style Sheets - course creators can now
customize the look and placement of all elements within a course
October 6, 2003, Mountain View, CA -- ReadyGoŽ Inc., creator of the easiest and fastest authoring tool for building e-Learning web courses, today announced that ReadyGo Web Course Builder (WCB) v. 4.0 is available for shipping. This version of the award-winning authoring tool includes significant new features, including cascading style sheets, expanding tree menus, multiple levels of indentation for bullets, multiple graphics on each bullet page, easy HTML page import, courses generated to only show tests, ability to add your own tags into the course or on specific bullet/sub-page/glossary pages, and launching a course to a specific page within the course. The testing capability has also been expanded so that the course author can give specific feedback to the student based on how they answer each question. These features further speed the development of e-learning courses, while enhancing ease of use.
Major New Features
Through style sheets course creators can now customize the look and placement of all elements within a course created with the WCB. ReadyGo's implementation of style sheets assures that they work with any 4.1 and later Microsoft, Netscape, Opera, or AOL browser that supports style sheets. Using ReadyGo's style sheet tool course developers can choose to use a style sheet for one course or an entire suite of course. This way if the corporate look changes, course creators do not need to change each course, just the master style sheet.
The course can be built with an expanding tree menu that allows the student to reach any page or sub-page of the content more rapidly. This is a key feature so that e-learning courses can truly be used as a corporate resource. The author can also set up their content pages with multiple levels of indented bullets, can rearrange bullet points, can delete bullet points, and can more easily insert new bullet points anywhere in the list of bullet points. Multiple graphics can now be interspersed with text content on a bullet page.
Version 4.0 enables the author to easily import HTML pages (with their graphics) created with any HTML editor, thereby improving reusability of existing content. WCB will automatically bring in any associated graphics and modify the links to the graphics so that the pages appear correctly as part of the ReadyGo course.
Another major addition, based on customer requests, is the ability to create a custom drill-down (or sub page) element. The author can use this feature to create pages containing homework assignments, exercises, bibliographic, or any other content that is too detailed for a bullet (main) page.
"Our customers asked for more ability to customize the look and feel of a course," said Anita Rosen, CEO of ReadyGo, Inc. "We've provided these additional elements without sacrificing the speed and ease of use that have become the trademarks of ReadyGo products."
Shipping and Availability
ReadyGo WCB 4.0 is available for shipping at a cost of $999.00, with volume discounts available. It can be downloaded from the ReadyGo web site (www.readygo.com) or purchased through ReadyGo partners.
